January Photo Shoot
Every month, I take a picture of Lida with her Bingo dog as a visual way to keep track of how she is growing. I always take LOTS of pictures and hope that I get at least one good one, and I always include David in some of the shots, too. This month I managed to end up with several photos of the kids that I love. They might not be great photographs (I’m just a point-and-shoot amateur), but they capture some priceless expressions.

Summer Fun @ the Library Part 3: Stuffed Animal Sleepover
What do you get when you cross a giant stuffed gorilla with a couple of very creative librarians?A Stuffed Animal Sleepover at the library, of course! David and I took the aptly named Big Gorilla and his smaller gorilla friend, Macy (?!) to the library where we made them name tags, introduced them to a bunch of other stuffed animal friends, read a couple bedtime stories, and tucked them in for the night...or so we thought.
Turns out, these stuffed animals were more interested in monkeying around after hours than sleeping, and I'm afraid Big Gorilla was the chief instigator of mischief. We have the proof in a memory book, and you can see all the photos on the ACPL flickr site.

Camping 2010
David is three years old and has not been camping yet...how did that happen? Keith and I used to go camping every summer, but between babies and masters classes, we just haven't made it happen in the past few years. We decided not to let another summer go by without a camping trip, so we borrowed Keith's parents' van, loaded up our gear and headed to Michigan for the week. Here are some highlights from the trip:
- camping next to the Hollidays and around the bend form Uncle Todd, Aunt Dee, Mike and Nic
- sleeping in our spacious new tent (and staying dry even when it stormed the first night)
- watching Uncle Jason try and try to get a fire going in the rain
- Macy's and David's wonderfully imaginative play - building campfires up to the trees and creating a compost pile
- Max losing his first tooth
- swimming in Lake Michigan (Lida even got her toes wet) and building sand castles with cousins
- Keith's veggie packets and pudgie pie pizzas made with homemade bread - yum!
- spending a day in Grand Haven with Peter, Niki & Jake
- taking a mid-trip stop at Papa & Tutu's cottage
- meeting up with friends at Michindoh (Flash, Quinn, Tate & Abigail and Pebbles & Kasia)
- ditching our tent during a torrential downpour to spend the night in Communiversity
- all kinds of Michindoh fun: swimming, nature center, archery, hayride, campfire, and of course...WATERSLIDE!

Bob the Builder - Indy Children's Museum
David's birthday gift from Keith and I was a trip to the Indianapolis Children's Museum to see the Bob the Builder Exhibit. We were a little nervous about toting Lida around the museum all day, but we just couldn't pass up this opportunity for our Bob-the-Builder-crazed kid.
At first, David was overwhelmed by the exhibit. There was so much to see and do that he had a hard time settling down to do any one thing. He seemed to be a bit frustrated that the tools and building materials were all spread out. He kept trying to take tools from one activity over to another - he was ready to build!
We spent quite a bit of time in the Bob the Builder exhibit and then moved on to a few other areas of the museum. At the end of our visit we stopped by Bob the Builder again and were just in time to do a real hands-on building project.
Before leaving Indy, we ate at Joe's Crab Shack (to celebrate my birthday) and stopped by Trader Joe's. We were all exhausted by the time we arrived home, but happy to have spent such a fun day together.

Blogging the Backlog
I've been inspired (or should I say threatened?) to get this blog up-to-date, so I've spent the evening going through photos and putting up some new posts. I like the idea of keeping everything in chronological order though, so these new posts won't necessarily show up at the top of the blog.
For now, you can see new posts here, here, and here. Also, I've added more photos to my flickr if you care to take a look.

Peter and Niki Forever
Great wedding day, Peter and Niki! It was beautiful and fun and very much you. I'm going to have to steal other people's pictures, because I really didn't take too many. I've uploaded the decent ones that I snapped to my flickr account.Tuesday, July 08, 2008
In lieu of a proper post
There is much on my to-blog list, but my brain is stuck in homework gear. For now you can take a look at some photos of what David's been up to the past few days.

Pics from the Party

A week ago today, David turned one, and we celebrated with a party in Michigan. Aunt Christy took some great pictures. You can see them all on our flickr site.

Lots of photos = Lots of fun
As I was going through photos on the computer this evening, having a difficult time choosing which to print for David's scrapbook, and being generally frustrated with myself for taking SO MANY pictures, I realized that there is some good that can come from lots of snapshots...even when I take one right after another. (Make sure you watch it several times so that you can take in the funniness of each person).

Carpenter-in-Training
David has enjoyed three visits from Papa and Tutu in the past two and a half weeks. They've been using the excuse of having to work on our porch project, but of course they're really coming down to see David. Today, he donned his carpenter duds to celebrate two occasions - the completion of our new front porch and halloween! We are so grateful to Jensen & Jensen Construction, Inc. as well as Holliday Demolition Services for all the hard work on this project. The best part is that the porch was finished just in time for trick-or-treaters this evening. Check out a few more halloween photos here.

Digital Scrapbooking Success
The other night, I created my first from-scratch digital scrapbook page using Storybook Creator Plus. It was very fun, and I didn't even have a mess to clean up when I was finished! Check it out:
The journaling on the page says:
Each week that you were growing in my belly, Daddy took a picture of us by the front door. As your due date approached, my belly got bigger and bigger. You arrived two weeks early, and so we took a week 39 photo just for fun. Having you on the outside is so much nicer.

New Photos
Tutu emailed us these photos today, and we think they're great!
The one of Daddy making Dave laugh is priceless.
Thanks Tutu!

Baby Goldfuss has arrived!

David Tucker Goldfuss was born on May 4 (Papa Jensen's birthday!) at 3:50 PM. Weighing in at 7 lbs. 10 oz. and 20 1/2 inches, little Davey took his time entering the world, but we're so glad he's finally here!
