There are way too many great pictures from David's birthday party to include here, so I'll just share this one of the birthday boy and his beloved monkey cupcake. We spent the afternoon exploring the beautiful wooded property of friends we've been getting to know this spring. We looked for wildflowers, saw a snake and a salamander, crunched the leaves under our feet, and braved a sudden downpour. We're so thankful for spring and friends with whom to share it.

While sorting through more of Max's hand-me-down clothes, David and I came across three pairs of big boy underpants. David immediately wanted to try them on...all three of them. He was so proud to be wearing underpants (and dinosaur socks to boot), I couldn't help but snap this photo of him. I'm sure he'll thank me someday.

We celebrated birthdays and easter at Cory and Lyndsie's new (huge) house in Ohio. As always, it was great fun to have all the cousins together. David enjoyed another egg hunt, singing happy birthday to London and Brianna, and meeting Slinky the weiner dog. We can't wait to go back to the Gfuss house in the summer to enjoy their pool!

For Christmas, Uncle Peter and Aunt Niki gave David these great socks. They immediately became a favorite. He affectionately refers to them as his "Peter socks" (or sometimes "Niki socks"), and he would wear them every day if he could. David loves to cook. He spends a lot of time with the play kitchens at the church nursery, the library, and Aunt Christy's house.
