New Posts

For all of you who follow this blog so faithfully (Niki), you'll be happy to know I've put up a few new (old) posts:

Although I've been neglecting this blog quite a bit lately, I have been much more active on Facebook. If you want to see lots more photos of the Goldfi, you should be my friend.

I'm not sure what will become of this blog, since it seems silly to post the exact same material here and on fb. I'd like to be a thoughtful, funny blogger like my sister, but I'm not sure I have it in me. Maybe I'll take a cue from my other sister, and do some more memes (is that what they are called?). Who knows...stay tuned. Actually, nah...go read something else for a while and check back in a month or two.

Little Chef

Between the CSA box and our own plants, we've had an abundance of tomatoes in our house lately, so today we decided to make some sauce to freeze.

The three of us had a good time cooking together and making a huge mess of the kitchen. David's job was to peel the tomatoes, and he took it very seriously. He removed the skins from those tomatoes faster than I could get them over to the table. When he was done with that, he proceeded to "cook" some of the tomatoes in a pot on the table.

For about a year now, he has really loved to pretend cook, so I'm not surprised that he enjoyed today's sauce-making so much. It looks like we might have a future chef in our kitchen.

Meeting Clifford

Clifford the Big Red Dog made a visit to our neighborhood library branch, and so we went to see him. David was very excited to meet him, despite the fact that he had never even heard of Clifford before today. Considering how frightened he is by the Chick-Fil-A cow, I expected him to lose his excitement the minute he realized exactly what Clifford was, but I was wrong. David kept his distance, but willingly waved hello and showed Clifford his art project. He even went up close with Daddy for a picture, and he proudly wore his red dog ears for most of the day. Woof woof!
