The Cure for Cabin Fever
Being a one-car family was great...until the snow came. Now that Keith is driving (rather than biking) to work, the kiddos and I are stuck at home most days. All day. Needless to say, we get a bit stir-crazy. Or as we like to say..we lose our brain balls. Thankfully it has warmed up quite a bit and we've been able to get outside and burn off some energy.
Sure, snow is great. But mud is even better!
Dad & Lida look on from indoors.
Of course, surprise flowers help to cheer up a mid-February day, too.

January Photo Shoot
Every month, I take a picture of Lida with her Bingo dog as a visual way to keep track of how she is growing. I always take LOTS of pictures and hope that I get at least one good one, and I always include David in some of the shots, too. This month I managed to end up with several photos of the kids that I love. They might not be great photographs (I’m just a point-and-shoot amateur), but they capture some priceless expressions.

Pigtails!
Our girl is getting so big! And her hair is so long...long enough for pigtails!
Isn't she a cutie?
It was fun to have TWO pigtailed girls at our house today.
I just can't...
get enough...
of these pigtails!

In Search of the Wendy
We've been hearing quite a bit about fairies, pirates, and lost boys around our house lately. Keith and David have been reading Peter Pan before bed each night and today they visited the Botanical Conservatory for Peter Pan Day. Earlier in the week I read the program description to David and he was very excited about dressing up as a character from the book. Captain Hook, Peter, Tinkerbell, a redskin...there were so many great costume possibilities to choose from! In the end, David donned a zookeeper hat and a dinosaur sweatshirt from a couple Halloweens ago. And he took along his police officer phone. I'm not sure who he was supposed to be, but he certainly had a good time dressing up.
